Chesterfield Township covers about 21 square miles of Burlington County farm country, and more than 7,000 acres of it are permanently preserved farmland. - Chesterfield Township (ZIP 08515) includes the unincorporated communities of Crosswicks, Chesterfield, Davisville and Extonville. Crosswicks, settled in 1677, is a census-designated place, and the township's Municipal Building is at 295 Bordentown-Chesterfield Road.
- The township does not provide trash collection. Residents contract individually with a private hauler, and the township's trash page says haulers accept bulk items such as couches and chairs, though there may be an additional charge. It tells residents to contact their own trash company for details.
- The township recycling drop-off, next to the Public Works building at 300 Bordentown-Chesterfield Road, accepts paper, cardboard, bottles, cans, automotive batteries, electronics, clean wood, brush, leaves, plastic bags, textiles, metal and white goods. Its metal area takes items such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, grills, and lawn mowers with no oil or fuel in them.
- Brush, branches and leaves are accepted at the drop-off from Chesterfield residents only, with no contractors or businesses, and grass clippings are not accepted.
- Burlington County does not provide trash collection either. Its Resource Recovery Complex in Florence and Mansfield Townships has a convenience center for car and small-truck loads that you unload by hand, charges disposal fees, and does not let in rented vehicles such as moving trucks.
