Mattresses, box springs and the rest of the bed
A mattress is awkward to move: heavy, floppy and hard to get around a stair landing or through a narrow bedroom door. We carry it out from wherever it is, whether that's an upstairs bedroom, a basement or a garage, load it and haul it away. Dominic, the owner, works jobs himself alongside his crew.
Along with the mattress, we take:
- Box springs and foundations
- Bed frames, headboards and footboards
- Futons and daybeds
- Dressers, nightstands and other bedroom furniture on the same visit
Why not wait for bulk pickup?
Many towns collect mattresses on bulk trash days, but each one sets its own rules. Middletown in Monmouth County, for example, only takes mattresses and box springs at the curb when they're fully wrapped in plastic sheeting and sealed with duct tape, and it leaves unwrapped ones behind. Rules and schedules change, so check your own town's current bulk pickup page before you drag a mattress outside.
Our town pages, like Freehold and Toms River, sum up each town's bulk pickup rules and link to the source. If you'd rather not wrap a king mattress, wrestle it down the stairs or wait for the next pickup date, we take it straight from the room it's in.
Getting ready
There isn't much to it:
- Strip the sheets, mattress pad and pillows you're keeping.
- Leave the mattress where it is. It doesn't need to come downstairs first.
- If it's already outside, keep it under cover if you can. A rain-soaked mattress is far heavier and messier to move.
- If there's a bed bug problem, tell us when you ask for a price.
- Point out anything else that's going, so it's part of the same price.
Where old mattresses go
Each county runs its own disposal system, and we haul each load to the licensed facility for the county it came from:
- Monmouth: the Monmouth County Reclamation Center in Tinton Falls, which doesn't accept solid waste from out-of-county routes
- Ocean: the Ocean County Landfill in Manchester
- Burlington: the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex
- Mercer and Middlesex: Duck Island in Hamilton
How mattress pickup works
Text a photo of the mattress, and tell us which floor it's on, to (855) 655-7552, or book a free estimate online. You get one price before we come.
- Pick a time. Same-day and next-day openings are often available.
- We text you before we arrive.
- We carry it out, load it and sweep up the spot where it sat.
Mattress removal across Central NJ
Based in New Egypt, we pick up mattresses across Monmouth, Ocean, Burlington, Mercer and Middlesex counties, including Jackson, Howell and Brick. We're an NJ A-901 licensed hauler, registered with the NJDEP (#0042737), and insured.
Moving out, clearing a whole house or emptying a basement? Mattresses often go out as part of an estate cleanout or a basement cleanout, all for one price.
How pricing works for mattress removal
Mattress removal is priced per job. The price depends on how many mattresses and box springs are going, their size, how far we carry them (a king coming down from a third-floor bedroom is more work than a twin in the garage), and anything else you add. Depending on the county, mattresses can cost more to dispose of than other household items, and that's built into the price. Every job has a $250 minimum, so if other things need to go, like an old dresser or bed frame, adding them to the same visit makes the most of it. The price we quote is the price you pay, with no hidden fees.
