Junk removal in Ewing
Ewing Township borders Trenton, Lawrence and Hopewell Township in Mercer County, and the Delaware River forms its western edge. Its roughly 15.6 square miles grew from farm hamlets like West Trenton, Ewingville and Wilburtha into a suburb of Trenton, with neighborhoods such as Prospect Heights, Glendale and Hillwood Lakes. The College of New Jersey and Trenton-Mercer Airport are both here. Sections near the Trenton line are more urban, but most of the township is suburban homes.
The township's trash contractor takes a few bulk items with your weekly garbage. For bigger loads, Public Works runs a bulk drop-off on Scotch Road, but you need a yearly pass and a photo ID, you haul it there yourself, each address gets a set number of loads a year, and contractors aren't allowed. - Ewing Township is one municipality. West Trenton, Ewingville, Wilburtha, Prospect Heights and its other sections are neighborhoods of the township, not separate towns, so the township's trash rules apply everywhere in Ewing.
- The township's trash contractor picks up a limited number of bulk items on your regular trash day (the township currently says up to three). TVs, computers, monitors and laptops can't go to the curb because state law requires them to be recycled, and Ewing takes them at the Public Works electronics drop-off on Scotch Road instead.
- The bulk drop-off at the Public Works Convenience Center, 136 Scotch Road, is for Ewing residents only. You need a bulk waste pass for your address, which covers a set number of car, SUV or pickup-truck loads per year, and a photo ID. Non-residents living in dorms or other campus housing at The College of New Jersey are excluded.
- The Scotch Road site takes large household items such as furniture, lamps, toilets and fixtures, windows with the glass removed, boxes, wood debris, small appliances and small amounts of sheetrock, wood and flooring. Propane tanks aren't accepted, and contractors, vehicles with commercial plates and businesses can't use it.
- Ewing Township no longer provides trash, bulk or recycling collection for commercial properties, so businesses have to arrange their own removal.

Ewing Township handles bulk trash two ways.
